This striking hand-blown art glass bowl captures the craftsmanship and artistry of mid-century European studio glass. The colour graduates beautifully from deep azure at the base to a lighter sky blue at the rim, creating a luminous depth that changes with the light.

The bowl’s interior and flared rim are perfectly smooth, while the outer surface displays a soft, tactile optic ribbing — a hallmark of glass first blown into a ribbed mould and then expanded freehand. This subtle texture refracts light across the surface, giving the piece movement and life.

The clear crystal foot has been applied by hand and joined with a delicate crimped seam, adding both strength and a touch of visual rhythm to the join. The base is neatly ground and features a fully polished pontil, smooth to the touch yet slightly undulating — an authentic sign of studio finishing rather than factory production.

To the underside is a hand-engraved mark reading “F Glass” (or similar), consistent with small-studio or artisan signatures of the period. While unsigned by factory name, the style, construction and colouring strongly suggest Bohemian studio work, circa 1960–1975, likely from one of the skilled Czech glassworks such as Chríbska or Škrdlovice.

A fine example of mid-century craftsmanship, this bowl combines sculptural form with radiant clarity — equally at home in a curated glass collection or as a statement centrepiece in a modern interior.
