Here's something one doesn't see everyday, a vintage piece of Maexsa studio glass from Mexico. These central American beauties rarely find there way to UK shores. This was produced between 1941 and 1969 by individual Mexican glass blowers and the name Maexsa doesn't apply to a single person or studio, but to more of a 'collective' of skilled artists and artisans who used traditional mouth-blown methods to produce unique and vibrant glassware.
This particular vase is large, striking, imposing even, and is in the highly sought after colourway of turquoise and clear with shades of blue and green. A true statement of the artist skill and celebration Mid Century Modern design, from a country far far away.
30 cms tall and perfect.
