A lovely example of this perennial favourite. Loved by artists and designers since ancient Greek times, the cornucopia represents times a-plenty, fun and happiness.
This fine example of Murano art glass features a twisted stem, opening into the classic horn shape. Then placed upon a five leaf style pedestal foot which showcases the art of Foglia D'Oro. (Gold leaf in the glass)
Whilst this very strongly resembles work from Murano, without a mark or signature (normal at this time) it's very difficult to attribute it to a particular studio or furnace. That being said it style and design elements strongly suggest a work from Barovier & Toso, specifically their Cordonato d'Oro series (golden cord) which was created and produced in the 1950s under designer Ercole Barovier.
This wonderful piece of historic Italian art glass is in tip top condition, perfect infact and stands a healthy 6.5 inches tall. (16.5 cms)
