Murano Rooster from Formia

From one of Murano Island foremost glass studio comes this absolutely stunning and unique cobalt blue rooster with black comb, beak and eyes. It's still sporting the original "Formia VETRI DI MURANO made in Italy" label.

When we say unique we really mean it. 

The level of skill displayed in this piece is beyond remarkable. From the mirror polished base through to the saturated graduation of the cobalt blue as it starts so dark at base and gradually fades as it rises up the tail. The precision of the almost black eyes, beak and comb which were created separately and then applied. The hand-blown skill on show here is evidenced by the absolute clarity of the piece which is virtually completely free of any incursion or seed bubbles. The final finishing and polishing is sublime.

We have never seen another Murano rooster that is even remotely similar to this piece and suspect that we never will. If you know differently then please let us know.
