Mid-Century Green Leaf Console Dish
c.1950s–1960s | Continental European pottery (likely German or Austrian)
Length: 39.5 cm | Condition: Good vintage, with one tiny base nibble
There’s something quietly graceful about this long leaf-shaped dish. Glazed in soft jade green shading to milky white, it carries that unmistakable mid-century optimism — a perfect fusion of nature and form. The surface gleams like fresh spring foliage, each ridge and vein caught under a satin-bright glaze.
The underside bears a small crowned mark — the text now softened by time, though still hinting at its continental origin — and the piece rests securely on its narrow oval foot.
At almost 40 cm in length, it’s a substantial and sculptural object: elegant enough for a sideboard or console, yet informal enough to hold fruit, flowers or simply admiration.
A lovely example of mid-century decorative ceramics — part sculpture, part tableware — and still radiating that fresh, 1950s European charm.
Notes: One tiny base nibble noted for accuracy; otherwise excellent glaze and form.
