A striking mid-century Italian cased glass vase, most likely made in the Empoli glassmaking region of Tuscany during the 1960s–70s. The rich ruby red body is beautifully cased in clear crystal glass and complemented by a clear applied handle and matching clear base.
The vase is elegantly proportioned, with a gently flared rim, slender neck and rounded lower body. The handle is delicately tooled and smoothly attached, showing the slight join marks characteristic of Empoli workmanship. The clear, slightly domed base is fire-polished with subtle swirl traces — a typical finish of Empoli production.
When held to the light, the cased layers produce a warm inner glow, revealing the clarity and purity of the glass.
