This superb mid-century amber glass bowl absolutely oozes quality. Heavy in the hand and beautifully balanced, it displays exceptional workmanship and attention to detail. The smooth upper wall flows into a precisely ribbed lower body, divided by an exquisitely tooled transition line that catches and bends the light to striking effect.

The rim is thick and perfectly fire-polished, showing the skill of a craftsman who finished the glass by hand — a process that left a gentle, natural undulation along the lip, typical of high-grade studio finishing.

Although the bowl’s clarity, weight, and restraint initially suggest Scandinavian design, closer inspection rules that out: the distinctive sunburst base and sharply defined rib pattern are characteristic of Czechoslovakian crystal, most likely produced by Rückl or another factory within the Sklo Union group during the late 1960s to mid-1970s.

A piece of genuine mid-century craftsmanship — elegant, tactile, and timeless.
