Miners lamp tally.

Here is a vintage brass miner's lamp tally, sometimes known as pit token. It was used by collierys to help keep track of equipment and men and would have been drawn and then returned at the beginning and end of each shift.

In spit of the difficulties inherent in the dating of such items, we can, after intensive research and indepth forensic analysis,  confidently say that this particular token was made in 1927.
